Do you offer in-home lactation visits in my area?
Yes — I provide in-home lactation support throughout North County San Diego, including San Marcos, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, Encinitas, Temecula and nearby communities. If you’re unsure whether I travel to your location, reach out and I’ll be happy to confirm.
Do you offer virtual lactation consultations?
Absolutely. I offer secure telehealth lactation support to families anywhere in California. Virtual visits are a great option if you live outside North County or simply prefer the convenience of meeting from home.
What should I expect during my first lactation consultation?
During your visit, I’ll take time to listen to your concerns, observe a feeding, and provide personalized, evidence-based guidance. We’ll make a care plan together to help you feel confident and supported in your feeding journey.
Do you provide healthcare navigation assistance?
Yes. In addition to lactation support, I help families navigate the healthcare system — from understanding referrals and follow-up care, understanding insurance coverage to connecting with pediatricians, specialists, and community resources.
Are you a certified IBCLC?
I am a Registered Nurse (RN, BSN) and Lactation Consultant who has completed all the requirements to sit for the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exam. I’m currently an IBCLC candidate and look forward to adding this credential soon.
Can you help with pumping and bottle feeding?
Yes. I support families with exclusive pumping, bottle feeding, returning to work, and combination feeding. My goal is to help you feed your baby in the way that works best for your family.
Do you accept insurance for lactation visits?
At this time, I do not bill insurance directly, and most insurance plans do not cover visits with a Lactation Consultant outside their contracted networks. I provide a receipt (superbill) you can submit to your insurance, but reimbursement is not guaranteed. Many families choose to use HSA or FSA funds to cover services.
What is healthcare navigation support?
Healthcare navigation support helps families understand and manage the often overwhelming medical system. This may include care coordination, preparing for appointments, understanding recommendations, identifying next steps, and connecting with appropriate providers or community resources. My role is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident as you move through your child’s care.
Who can benefit from healthcare navigation services?
Healthcare navigation support is helpful for families managing complex medical needs, new diagnoses, or multiple providers — as well as parents who simply feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Many families seek navigation support during pregnancy, the newborn period, or when transitioning between levels of care.
Do I need to be a lactation client to receive healthcare navigation support?
No. Healthcare navigation services are available as a standalone offering or as an add-on to lactation care. All clients begin with a comprehensive new patient evaluation to ensure support is tailored, appropriate, and effective.
What types of issues can healthcare navigation support address?
Navigation support may include help with understanding treatment plans, preparing questions for medical appointments, organizing follow-up care, coordinating referrals, clarifying insurance-related questions, and identifying local or statewide resources. While I do not provide medical diagnoses, I help families make sense of information and advocate within the healthcare system.
Do you provide medical advice or replace my doctor?
No. Healthcare navigation support does not replace medical care or advice from your healthcare providers. My role is educational and supportive — helping you understand information, prepare for appointments, and navigate care decisions in partnership with your medical team.
Do you offer CPR or educational classes?
Yes. I offer in-home educational services designed to help caregivers feel prepared and confident. Current offerings include infant CPR education, with additional classes planned in the future. Educational services focus on practical, real-life learning in a supportive environment.
Are your classes certifications?
No. Educational services are not certification courses and do not replace formal certification programs. Instruction is provided for general knowledge and preparedness and is intended for caregivers and families, not professional credentialing.
Can multiple caregivers attend educational sessions?
Yes. In-home educational sessions are designed to include multiple caregivers, such as parents, grandparents, or other support people. Additional participants may be added for an additional fee, depending on the class.
